HONORING MEN OF GOD

“We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.”
Jer 48:29
Main Text: Main Text: mark 7:22-23

Pride is a grave sin, and its end is destruction. The Bible warns that "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18). Recognizing pride in oneself and striving for humility can help prevent the same fate that befell Lucifer and countless others. It is a reminder that no matter how exalted our position, maintaining a humble and contrite heart is essential for a righteous life. True humility involves respecting God's choices and acknowledging that His wisdom surpasses our understanding.

One of the ways for a believer to recognize that they are falling prey to the sin of pride is their propensity to sit in a gathering and criticize men of God. This behavior is a clear indication of a lack of respect for God and a misguided belief in one's superiority over those whom God has chosen to lead. Such criticism often stems from a heart filled with pride, leading individuals to believe that their judgment is above divine appointment. This attitude not only undermines the authority of God's chosen leaders but also distances the critic from God's grace.

The path to humility begins with self-examination and the recognition of our limitations. By honoring God's chosen leaders and cultivating a spirit of respect and humility, believers can guard against the insidious nature of pride and remain steadfast in their faith.

Confession:

I declare that I honor and respect the leaders You have placed over me, especially the Apostle whose covering I am under. I stay away from wrong gatherings and

associations that do not align with Your will. I commit to living a life that brings glory to Your name and advances Your Kingdom in Jesus name.
