THE SCALE BALANCE

The Bible says, ‘if any man's work shall be burnt, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” I Corinthians 3:15. How about your character/conduct as a Christian? Many probably see you as a great Christian with the character of our Lord Jesus Himself; many probably pray to be your kind of Christian, but how sound is your Christian testimony before the real Judge, God Almighty? He knows what nobody else knows about you. And the Worldwide English version of Luke 8:17 says, “Everything that is hidden will be seen. Everything that is secret will be known and come out to be seen.” Equally, Luke 12:2 says, “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.” Before that time comes when we shall all be judged and rewarded for our works, why don’t we turn blind eyes to the evaluation of men about us and honestly listen to God and know what He thinks of our works and lifestyle?

Even though they seem to be serving and living for God, many Christians today are found wanting each time He places them on His weighing scale. Unfortunately, many of these people do not know their true weight because they are full of self-righteousness like the Pharisee whom Jesus said “… stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. …” Luke 18:11-12.

Proverbs 21:2 says, “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.” Also, read Proverbs 16:2 for more. Be careful how you live in this end time. There are number of strange teachings around us that appear juicy but they cannot stand the test of the Bible. See that you do not allow the sweet words of men dissuade you from the purpose of God for your life in this 2018.
