HINDRANCES TO PRAYER 1
"For the eyes of the LORD roam to and fro over all the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is fully devoted to Him."
2 Chronicles 16:9 (BSB)
Main Text:
God desires to answer every prayer, He gave us His word to enable us pray in accordance to His will. Unanswered prayer is not the result of God's unwillingness to use His power, but because of the impediments we allow to overwhelm us. Our Lord Jesus said in Matthew 21:22 "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." He didn't say a few things you pray for would come to pass, or that some prayers every now and then would be answered, He said "All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing..." He said believing. Then ye shall receive.
Two of the greatest obstruction to the believers’ prayer life are doubt and unbelief. They seem similar, however, there's a difference. Doubt is the thief of God's blessings. It's a feeling of uncertainty and lack of conviction. It keeps a man in a state of separation from God. When a person is in doubt, they do not respond to His Word. This hinders His power in their behalf. Doubt comes from ignorance of God's word. For example, many have the idea that God will no longer heal or they think He's not interested in their financial life, consequently, their prayers are hindered in this regard. Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge". God's word is given to us for the daily renewal of our minds. It is through the knowledge of His Word that we can fellowship with Him, find out His will and act in accordance with his will.
Confession; I have the Spirit of faith, I choose to believe God's word, therefore, I am blessed beyond measure.
Prayer: I rebuke every form of hindrance to my prayer
