HERITAGE OF GOD(Children's Day Special)
Lo, children are the heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
Psalm 127:3
Main Text: PSALM 115:12-18
Children are often viewed as evidence of a fruitful union, and the absence of children in a marriage can sometimes be perceived as an issue. However, this perspective overlooks the deeper understanding that children are not merely biological outcomes, but rather divine blessings entrusted to parents by God. To truly grasp the concept of children as a heritage, it's essential to consider the broader meaning of heritage itself. Heritage extends beyond material possessions to encompass intangible elements such as values, traditions, and identity. From this perspective, children serve as a continuation of the family legacy, carrying forward the values and principles inherited from previous generations.
Children are bestowed upon us by a divine grace. They are gifts, blessings, and a sacred inheritance from the divine. We must always cherish and honor them as such, recognizing that they ultimately belong to the higher power who entrusts them to us for a time. It is our duty to instil in them a reverence for this higher power, guiding them to walk in His ways. We are called to nurture, educate, and guide them towards a life rooted in faith, preparing them to fulfill their purpose like arrows released from a bow.
As parents, we bear a solemn responsibility for the spiritual well-being of our children, a duty not to be underestimated or neglected.
Confession
I am blessed and highly favored of the Lord. I declare in the name of Jesus, my children are blessed, and highly favored of the Lord. I train up my children in the way of the Lord and they do not depart from His ways and precept! Amen!

Matthew 18:2-5 “He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
Ephesians 6:1-4 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honour your father and mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise— ‘so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”
