ENDUEMENT OF POWER
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
Main Text: Main text: Acts 2:4
The Holy Spirit is the custodian of God’s power, however, for man to walk in that power, fellowship is key! It is however important to note that when man accepts Christ, and receives the infilling of the Holy Spirit, power has been released to the believer, but to grow in that power, man must develop a culture of prayer and fellowship. E.M. Bounds is noted to have made the statement “What the Church needs to-day is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use -men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men - men of prayer.”
The word enduement in the Greek means “to bestow upon, to endow, it also means to put on like a clothe” when we received the Holy Ghost the garment of power was bestowed upon us, however, we grow in this power by prayer. The verse in Acts 1:8 states, 'Ye shall receive the power of the Holy Spirit coming upon you.' Therefore, the Anointing or Enduement of Power is the transformative experience initiated by the Holy Spirit descending upon the believer, empowering and equipping them for service.
The Spirit of God empowers us with divine strength, enabling us to live as triumphant children of God. Each believer has a destined purpose, which is consistently challenged by the opposition of the enemy, the flesh, and the world this is why we need the power of the spirit to enable us walk in the victory we freely have in Christ Jesus.
Confession:
I have the Greater One in Me, therefore, I walk in the power of God and I experience victory everywhere I go. I am a friend of God and I walk in the power of God. Amen.
