WHAT DOES YOUR LOVE WORTH? 1
“He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me…â€
John 21:17
Main Text:
If you are truly in love, you will know and it will show in your character. If you love your spouse, children, family or a friend, there will be proofs. Love is the greatest and it’s a major requirement for you to access God and to be a blessing to the world at large. You don’t need to deceive yourself, love is not only in your heart, it shows readily in actions. And remember, you can pretend to love someone but not with God. There’s a lot of deceit going on among men but God searches the heart.
If Jesus should ask you like He asked Peter what will your response be? This is the right time to ask you again! Where is your love for God, where is your love for humanity? You will need to prove your love. Your first proof to God is in total release of your life to Him. If God is your love, let Him have His way in your life. If He’s not in charge of your life, plans and dreams you have succeeded in deceiving yourself. Look at the Church in Macedonia, they first gave their lives to Christ before giving their material things to Him.
“And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.” (2 Corinthians 8:5).
You must be committed to God if you truly love Him. Your service must show it. God is your witness this day if you are truly in love with Him. Don’t deceive yourself any further rather talk to yourself. Be conscious about this. If you have no proof of your love for Christ you’re yet to start the race to eternal life.
Show love to sinners. It is well with you.
Prayer: Father, please give me grace to love you genuinely more than this world of sin and sorrow
