THERE IS AN UNSEEN HAND
Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.â€
Jeremiah 1: 8
Main Text:
It would be unfair if Jesus sent us and left us all alone in the world to be on our own without a Director-Holy Spirit. He knows the world is a hostile place to be. Jesus infact said, “I am sending you as sheep among the wolves.” He often told His disciples to expect persecution and hatred but He also assured them that He would be with them. As a sign that He was always with them, He gave them His name as the weapon, just as He has given us also – Acts 4: 12.
I told a story some years ago about a young boy that felt at a time that he was old enough to go to school alone at the age of 7. He restrained his mom from following him to school but the mother knew the boy was still young to go to school alone. From her protective instinct, the mother would follow quietly and unnoticed. This she did for a few years. Later in life, the mother declared to the boy she had always followed him to school those past years to ensure his safety. Though the boy felt embarrassed, but he actually appreciated the care. The same way the Holy Spirit has been with us the moment we accept Him as our Lord, infact, we have the indwelling of His Spirit immediately we accept Jesus as our Saviour.
After the death of Moses, Joshua was the next in line to take up the baton of leadership but the poor boy had seen how the Israelites almost killed Moses. But hear what God told him;…I will not leave you nor forsake you.” As a sign of support, River Jordan was separated; the mighty wall of Jericho fell. Then Joshua knew that God was indeed with him.
I know that when God gives a vision, He also gives a pro-vision. He is an unseen Hand meant to PROTECT always.
Prayer: Open my eyes that I may see the wonders of Your works and presence
