BE CONSECRATED THEREOF “

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline. Therefore, be zealous and repent.”
Revelations 3:19
Main Text: Romans 12:1

The word consecration is commonly used in reference to the official ordaining of a person to be a pastor, priest, or missionary. This use implies that consecration is something that’s reserved for a special category of people. But the New Testament reveals that consecration is something that every believer in Christ can, and should, experience. Consecration is also not something only for knowledgeable or spiritually mature Christians. Rather, we all need to consecrate ourselves to the Lord in order to deepen our personal knowledge of Christ and grow in the divine life.

In the Bible the word consecration means “the separation of oneself from things that are unclean, especially anything that would contaminate one’s relationship with a perfect God.” Consecration also carries the connotation of sanctification, holiness, or purity. The Bible tells believers to be a holy people, separate from the world: “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you” (2 Corinthians 6:17). Being consecrated is a critical component in our relationship to God and to those in the world. Paul tells us, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:1-2).

In order to have a deeper walk with the Lord, its important we stay Holy before the Him and maintain absolute dedication before the Lord.

Prayer:

Abba, I choose this day to be consecrated before you, I choose you Lord, I desire a deeper relationship with you Abba, thank you Father.
