PROSPER IN ALL YOU DO!
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
3 John 2(NKJV)
Main Text:
God is concerned about your financial success as He is about every other part of your life. When you began your walk with the Lord, one of the things you had to learn was to recognize the lies of the devil. They were holding you captive – you realized that the previous ways you lived your life by worldly standards held you captive. The further you walked with God, the less complicated your life became, inner peace began to grow and your culture began to change. According to biblical standards, that culture should also affect your finance and the way you spent your money.
A large number of people are so desperate for a quick financial fix, they just pull a few prosperity promises out of the bible and “try to believe them” without allowing God to change anything else in their lives. They then end up disappointed because nothing worked and cuss against believers who are prosperous.
I can definitely tell you that it is God’s will for all His children to prosper. In 3rd John 2, John didn’t just say “I want you to prosper”, He said “I want you to prosper as your soul prospers>” He tied financial prosperity to the prosperity of our mind, will and emotion. God’s plan is for you to grow financially as you grow spiritually. He knows it’s dangerous to put great wealth into the hand of someone who is too spiritually immature to handle it. The wages of sin is death, that’s an inescapable fact, therefore, when people get money and use it to sin, it does them more harm than good.
Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus, I desire to use my wealth to glorify your name, help me stay true to it and be disciplined enough to focus on that which is more important – your kingdom, in Jesus name. Amen
