POVERTY HAS BEEN DEFEATED 2
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich."
2 Corinthians 8:9 (ESV)
Main Text:
The economic crises in some nations can be likened to the days of Joseph when scriptures record that money failed. Poverty today seems to be the norm among nations and certain society. It has no respect of gender, race, color or creed. Most individuals believe in excessive work and humanitarian services however, as believers our belief system should be based on scriptures.
Galatians 3:13-14: "Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse. And now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham’s blessing is present and available for non-Jews, too. We are all able to receive God’s life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing—just the way Abraham received it." (MSG)
Poverty bowed to Jesus on the cross, therefore as New Testament believers we are to live in abundance. The life of divine nature in Christ is not limited or controlled by the resources of this world. We have our abundance in Christ Jesus and that cannot be contested.
Confession: In the name of Jesus, I have authority over the kingdom of darkness. I have authority over the works of the devil. Poverty is the work of the devil, therefore, I have authority over poverty and I live in abundance.
Prayer: I destroy every trace and power of poverty in my life
