LAY HOLD OF THE PROMISE
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of the heavens is taken by violence and the violent seize it.”
Matthew 11:12 (BLB)
Main Text: Main text: 1Thessalonians 5:4
The Greek term "katalambano" carries a sense of seizing, capturing, or taking hold of something with determination. The prefix "kata-" suggests a forceful, intensive action, while the root "lambano" means to take or receive. Thus, "katalambano" conveys the idea of forcefully grasping or comprehending something. In context, this word can signify embracing the promises of God as found in scripture. According to biblical scholars, the Bible contains over 8,810 promises made by God to humanity. It's crucial for believers to grasp and understand these promises, as they serve as a foundation for advancing God's kingdom. 2nd Corinthians 1:20 “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”
It's crucial for believers to understand the importance of seizing moments. Everyone who achieved great things in partnership with God knew the value of trusting Him and His Word. God is not slow to act, and His promises are always reliable. Throughout the Bible, we see examples of individuals who experienced significant breakthroughs because they trusted in God's timing and relied on His unchanging Word.
By recognizing and embracing God’s promises, believers can align themselves with God's plan and experience His faithfulness in their lives. It is through this active trust and reliance on His Word that we can be part of God's ongoing work in the world.
Confession:
I decree, I lay hold on the promises of God! I am blessed and fruitful! I step into the next level God has for me, in Jesus name.

Let us think of one another and help one another to love and to do good things. Do not stop going to church meetings. Some people do stop. But help each other to be strong. You must do it all the more as you see the Great Day coming closer.”
