WHEN GOD IS QUIET

If you think that the Bible is so complex and God is hard to understand, then you don’t know God. One way or the other, the Bible has answers to every question that needs answer. You have heard that it is good to seek God, ask Him for direction; yet there are times that it would seem He is not speaking. At such time what do we do?

Saul who was asking God question but had no answer had this to say - “God has departed from me…” 1 Sam 28:15. Is that your own experience as well or have you also concluded like King Saul that God has departed you based on your experience so far this 2019? I live that for you to answer. The question then is what can make God’s Spirit depart a person? Isaiah 59:2 says, “… your INIQUITIES (Sins) have separated you from your God… so He will not hear”. In Psalm 66:18, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me”. So, without doubt, SIN is the problem.

When you ask God questions about His will, He’ll most likely be silent. This is in fact more dangerous, because you may hear a voice telling you to go ahead. In Number 22:10-12 (please read the story), God told Balaam not to curse the Israelites because His word teaches that whoever God has blessed, no man can curse (Psalm 105:14-15; Number 23:20; 1 Samuel 24:6). So, Balaam already knew what the LORD permitted and forbade. Yet, in Numb 23:15-20, Balaam asked God again whether to go or not. This time, he heard “go ahead”.

NOTE that the same God spoke to him, not the devil. Why? Because once you’re sure of the word of God, you don’t have to doubt.

His word is standard and should not be compromised. As we approach 2020 shortly, hold firm to His prevailing Word to guide you through the New Year. Beloved, God is always faithful.
