AVOIDING COVENANT CHALLENGERS 3

“...also the Lord telleth thee that He will make thee a house. And when thy days be fulfilled... and I will establish his kingdom
II Samuel 7:11-12
Main Text:

It was recorded that Amnon, one of David’s sons, forcefully slept with Tamar, Absalom’s sister. Absalom was not happy with the development. We read from 2 Samuel 13:23 that Absalom waited for two full years during which time he must have been quietly and patiently plotting until the opportunity came and he killed his brother Amnon. Also, it took Absalom 40 years to start executing the evil he had been plotting against King David (2nd Samuel 15:7). Absalom was not in a hurry but was ready to wait as long as he had to in order to achieve his aim of unsettling the covenant of peace that David was enjoying.

There are times when the Lord reveals to you that a particular person you know is an “Absalom” that the devil has sponsored to harm you. Unfortunately because a lot of believers do not understand that even in the camp of the enemy there is time for everything, if “Absalom” does not manifest his evil side on time they begin to doubt that God was actually the one that warned them. They then relax and give “Absalom” a chance to carry out his evil plan of contending for the covenant of God over you. Don’t be deceived by “Absalom’s” calmness and patience – he’s only watching and waiting to strike when you least expect it, therefore, always guard your heart with the prevailing Word of God.

The third thing we want to note about Absalom, David’s son, is that he had plenty of “love” for the people. Now, let us note at this point that “Absalom” is not only interested in challenging the covenant that the Lord has made with you – he would also like to use you as an instrument to challenge God’s covenants with other believers around you. Part of his strategies is to show fake love to you and everyone else. You will not fall into wrong hands today.

Prayer: I will not be dominated by wickedness
