IT IS A MUST TO BE VIGILANT
“Be sober; be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devourâ€
I Peter 5: 8
Main Text:
The greatest danger that a man faces in the spiritual world is what happens when he sleeps. There are two types of sleep according to the Bible: Physical sleep and Spiritual sleep. Every normal person must engage in physical sleep to allow the body rest in order to be active again, and also to allow other cells of the body develop properly. Anybody can sleep physically, but not everyone should sleep spiritually. God Himself in His wisdom planned it such that we should dream during sleep. Dreams are therefore important in human life. However, some people’s spiritual sleep may be so deep that they forget everything they see in their dreams. There is danger in not remembering what you dream about.
Number one danger is that God may be passing serious message of deliverance or warning to you through dreams, but when you wake not remembering them can be terrible.
Well, what you don’t know is that, the fastest way to losing destiny is submitting to spiritual sleep. Whatever you think, I just want to let you know that wickedness is real and the only way out or provision for escape is when the word of God is alive in your spirit man also when you’re completely dead to sin.
The objective of today’s study is the importance of being vigilant so that we will not become destroyer of our own destiny. What the devil plants in the lives of people in their dreams can be likened to weeds. There is always a proper plant in place before weeds come. The problem with weeds is that they compete with the real plant. They disturb the real plant, and can kill it if they are carrying diseases. These diseases can be transferred to the real plant. Whatever thing you notice that will make you become insensitive to the spirit of God must be dealt with fast by the Word of God.
Prayer: Awake the sleeping man in me O Lord.
