ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE SENT

“Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.”
Mark 5:19-20
Main Text: MAIN TEXT: John 20:21

It is a great privilege to work for God. When we allow ourselves to be used by Him, we open the door to do great things for His glory. William Carey, a pioneer in modern missions, once said, "Attempt great things for God; expect great things from God." This call challenges us to step out in faith, to dream big, and to trust that God will do amazing things through our efforts. We are invited to be sent into a world that is in desperate need of hope and salvation. Just as Jesus allowed Himself to be sent to the cross for our sake, we, too, must be willing to be sent into a dying world to bring the message of life. This willingness to go, to serve, and to proclaim the gospel is not only an act of obedience but also a profound honor.

To be sent by the Lord is a tremendous honor, one that carries with it both a responsibility and a promise. The responsibility is to share the love of Christ with all those we encounter, to be His hands and feet in a world that so desperately needs Him. The story of the madman of Gadara, as recorded in the Gospels, is a powerful example of a man who allows himself to be sent; After being miraculously healed by Jesus, this man was not only restored to his right mind but was also given a mission: to tell others what great things the Lord had done for him. Jesus sent him to Decapolis, which means "ten cities," and there he became a living testimony of God’s power and grace.

One man, who had been tormented and outcast, became a missionary to ten cities simply by sharing his story. His message was straightforward: "Come and see a man who healed me of madness." Through his testimony, many were introduced to Jesus and the transformative power of His love. Like the man from Gadara, each of us has been given a unique testimony of how God has worked in our lives. Whether it's healing, provision, deliverance, or any other blessing, our personal experiences with God are powerful tools for evangelism. When we share what God has done for us, we not only glorify Him but also invite others to experience His goodness for themselves.

You, too, have the sole responsibility of preaching the gospel with the numerous testimonies God has given you. Your story, however ordinary or extraordinary it may seem, has the potential to impact lives and draw people closer to Christ. Don’t underestimate the power of your testimony.

Confession

I dedicate my entire life to the service of God's Kingdom. I give of myself fully—my time, my resources, and my abilities—to advance His work on earth. I commit to serving with a heart of humility and love, knowing that my labor in the Lord is not in vain. I choose to live a life that is wholly devoted to God and His purposes.

Acts 13:1-4 “Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away. So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.”
