DON’T SURRENDER
...certain man went down from Jerusalem in Jericho and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his raiment. And leaving him half dead.
Luke 10: 30
Main Text:
Sometime ago, a story was told about an army officer who led his troops across the ocean and after the Officer set their own ship on fire. When he was asked of this unusual behaviour, his response was “no retreat no surrender, we either win the battle or die in the battle” and alas they won due to their determination. This is the kind of attitude soldiers are known for. Knowing full well that, once in a battle field, they must be prepared never to retreat nor surrender to the opposition.
What happened to Demas? All we know is that some of the last words the Apostle Paul wrote before his Roman execution expressed a heartbreak: “Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me…” II Timothy 4:10
The Bible says, “Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint
Proverbs 21:16, the man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. No wonder he fell in the midst of thieves; remember Jesus said, the thief comes not but to steal, to kill and to destroy John 10: 10. Allow God to direct you on your way to destiny in this year of prevailing word by His Spirit so that you too will not miss it.
Beloved note that we are constantly engaged in warfare and anytime you fail, you create a loophole for the devil to strike. Don’t draw back to perdition hold on to God’s prevailing word, He will surely come around for you and peradventure you find a beloved who had been dealt with by the enemy, help in accordance to your ability and your labour of love will not go unrewarded in Jesus name.
Prayer: Lord, help me to stand till the end.
