THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS
“Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
Revelation 19:10
Main Text: Main Text: Luke 4:8
The term "revelation" itself implies an unveiling or disclosure of information that was previously concealed. It's akin to drawing back a veil to reveal what was hidden or unwrapping a gift to discover its contents. Prophecy, in its simplest form, is a form of communication from God to humanity. It involves the transmission of divine messages through individuals known as prophets. Prophecy can encompass various aspects, including predictions of future events, guidance, warnings, or revelations about God's will. Essentially, prophecy involves the articulation of God's words, intentions, or insights, often with the aim of providing guidance, instruction, or foreknowledge.
From other translations such as the NIV and NLT, we are made to understand that the Angels statement to Apostle John simply meant “It is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.” “The essence of prophecy is to give a clear witness for Jesus.” Due to the Prophecy given, the Apostle tries to worship the Angel for which he is corrected that only Jesus is worthy to be worship. It is therefore important to understand that all leaders are worthy of honor, however, only the Lord Jesus Christ is to be worshipped.
Every word must glorify Jesus and point towards Jesus and His Word, any thing contrary to this is not of God and does not edify the Spirit. The Word of God is the standard and Jesus is the focus, don’t let anyone allow you get distracted. Jesus is Lord.
Confession:
I declare, in this year of Reverence and Godly fear, I honor the Lord with my substance, my life and my strength. I decree that I am stepping through open doors into the glory. I am delivered from destruction and walk in divine protection. No weapon formed against us shall prosper; and every tongue that rises up against us, we condemn; for this is the heritage of the Lord, and our righteousness is of Him.
