OPPORTUNITY 3

“Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.”
Ephesians 5:16 (NLT)
Main Text:

Opportunity means favorable chance or opening offered by circumstances, occasion and possibility. Most opportunities come by way of a problem, trial or test.

Take for example, our Lord Jesus had an opportunity to show his disciples and the multitudes how great God is and how our faith can produce an abundant blessing and he took it. Finance was never a problem in the ministry of Jesus so feeding the crowd could have been settled, the problem however was the distance, and rather than asking his disciples to travel to the marketplace, he chose to show the many sided complicated wisdom of God by working a miracle. Mark 8:19-20 “Earlier I broke five loaves for the 5,000. How many baskets of pieces did you pick up?”Twelve,” they replied. “Later I broke seven loaves for the 4,000. How many baskets of pieces did you pick up?” “Seven,” they answered.” (NIV)

It’s also worthy to note that as believers, we should be kind and good to each other. Galatians 6:10 “Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.” (NLT) Colossians 4:5 “Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.” (NLT) God blesses those who are kind to the poor, and whenever we are opportune to help, we should take it. Spending time with the Holy Spirit prompts us about opportunities and guides us into which ones to take and discard. Isaiah 30:21 “Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, "This is the way you should go," whether to the right or to the left.” (NLT)

Confession: I declare God’s incredible blessings over my life. I am the head and not the tail. I will see an explosion of God’s goodness, a sudden widespread increase and I enjoy God’s great favor before men. Explosive blessings are coming my way. I am blessed!

Nehemiah 2:2-5;

Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid, 3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? 4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. 5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it
