HONOR THE LORD
“Honor the Lord with thy substance and with the first fruits of all thine increase.”
Proverbs 3:9
Main Text: Main Text: Exodus 34:26
The core idea of first fruits emphasizes that all initial offerings rightfully belong to God. In this worldly realm, anything not aligned with the kingdom of God or consecrated for Him is subject to a curse. The essence of first fruits involves dedicating one's initial resources to God. The concept of first fruits involves giving the initial salary earned in a new job entirely to God or the increase in a salary to God, as a devoted offering.
The offerings and sacrifices under Israel's ancient sacrificial system may vary from the gifts and contributions we present to support God's work today. Nevertheless, the enduring principle of dedicating our first fruits to God persists. When we prioritize God with our initial and best offerings, we affirm His ownership over everything we possess. This act of giving becomes a source of blessing for us, echoing the positive impact it had on ancient Israel.
In seeking blessings, we present God with the first of everything, allowing Him to redeem, sanctify, and bless the remainder. God encourages us to cultivate a mindset of offering Him our first fruits in all aspects of life. By dedicating the initial moments of our time, He blesses the remainder. Similarly, when we present the first fruits offering of our increase, God bestows His blessings upon our financial endeavors. When you offer God the first, He governs the outcome for the rest. God's impartiality ensures that the principle of first fruits is accessible to everyone.
Confession:
I declare, this year I obey God’s word and I am blessed in doing so in Jesus’ name, I am prosperous in all my affairs! Amen.
