BECOMING A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST

“And he said to them all,If any man will come after me,let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
Luke9:23
Main Text: Main text: Matthew10:38

To become a disciple of the Lord Jesus, certain criteria must be met, one of which is the call to take up our cross and follow Him. Jesus emphasized this in Matthew 10:38"And he that taketh no this cross, and followeth after me,is not worthy of me."This indicates that to be worthy of the  Lord, we must be willing to take up our own cross and follow Him.This cross is not the literal cross at Calvary but our personal burdens and sacrifices. Following Jesus means embracing a path that include ssuffering, loss, death to self, and denial of worldly pleasures. Often, we may need to sacrifice precious relationships, lose certain friends, or face financial sacrifices to be true disciples of Christ. This commitment also requires dying to our own desires and following the Lord wholeheartedly. Additionally, it means denying ourselves certain pleasures to advance the kingdom of God and spread the message of Jesus to all nations. Matt16:24 -25 “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. ”Losing your life for Jesus Christ is the only way to truly find it. Some individuals are called to ministry but resist this calling because they fear financial difficulties. To avoid these challenges, they seek security in secular jobs. However, what God has in store for them through their calling is far more precious and fulfilling than anything a secular job could offer. By embracing their divine calling, they can experience the fullness of life that only comes from following Jesus wholeheartedly. Are you willing to be a disciple of Jesus Christ? Then, you must be willing to sacrifice your life for the Lord and His purpose.

Confession:

I declare, I am blessed of the Lord; I am a disciple of the Lord and I follow the Lord Jesus Christ wholeheartedly.
