WHAT DOES YOUR LOVE WORTH? 2
“He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me…â€
John 21:17
Main Text:
Beloved, I know the Lord who has been speaking with you since yesterday will guide you into all truth and make you a genuine lover in Jesus our Lord.
Apart from your commitment to God, the love of God within you allows you to serve God better than any other man. Your service to God also reflects in your relevance to humanity. If you are not directly or indirectly in God’s service, you cannot prove depth of His love. God has several assignments for His people but you can only engage yourself in His service if you have genuine love for Him and His word.
“And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.” (Exodus 23:25).
Your blessings are hid in genuine service to God and humanity. If you cannot love your neighbour whom you see on a daily basis, how true is your love therefore for God who you cannot see? While you are blessing others, you are proving the sincerity of your love to them and it’s the outflow of the love of God within you. The Bible says: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…. ” (John 3:16).
Your love must be backed up with sacrificial giving, starting with your own life. You must surrender all to God and be ready to share with men! God’s love was fully demonstrated in blessing and enriching you so that you can show love to others. He said unto Abram, “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:” (Genesis 12:2). You are not qualified for the best of God until you are ready to show his love on the earth.
Prayer: Father, please give me grace to love you genuinely more than this world of sin and sorrow
