OPPORTUNITY 1

“Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel," he said, "what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness?”

Opportunity is an event or moment at which actions of importance or significance can be achieved. When running an enterprise or business, opportunity is always knocking at your door. The art of leading is knowing which opportunities to pursue and which ones to decline. Thomas Edison said “opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work”.

 

Bishop Bismark once asked, we all will have the opportunity to meet a great man at least once in life, however, what will we make of that meeting when we get the opportunity? The bible says Peter saw his opportunity, he recognized the hour, he was prepared and when preparedness meets opportunity, success is inevitable. Recognizing his opportunity bore growth for the church and spread the name of Jesus abroad. Colossians 4:5 “Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. (NLT)

Scripture admonishes us to be wise and make the most of every opportunity, either is sharing the good news of Jesus, or in your business affairs. If it wasn’t important, scripture will not emphasize this subject. The Greek word translated opportunity is Kairos. Kairos means an occasion, a fitting time, a set or proper time, a period marked with distinct conditions. To make the most out of our Kairos season, we must understand time and a Greek word is used to describe this Chronos. Chronos refers to minutes and seconds.

Confession: I declare, I’m a king, I decree peace, I decree victory, I got divine prosperity working in me, I do not fail! Why? Because all things work together for good to them that love God. There’s only one way in my life, only one way and that’s the way of prosperity, glory to God I’m blessed.
