YOU HAVE THE CHOICE POWER

Salvation in life is a choice and whatever you make out of it is your own business. God does not strive or compel any man to obey Him. He allows us to make our choice but usually like a father, he would advise us to choose life and not death, but most of us at times, out of our selfish interests, we tend to go the way of the world and when we get our fingers burnt, we run back to Him in repentance and some instead of running back to Him with a humble heart, began to accuse God unjustly saying, it was God who put them into that predicament in the first instance.

The same thing happened to Naomi and her family who left Bethlehem, Judah, God’s own nation for Moab. Now it will interest you to know the significant name possessed by each member of this family. Naomi’s husband Elimech, meaning my God is King, but in the presence of famine God was no longer his King he chose another, the idol of the Moabites. Naomi means my Pleasant One, but because of her wrong choice, she preferred to be called Mara meaning, bitterness because she had lost her husband with her two sons without any grandchild.

Naomi and her family being the children of God failed to heed His instruction and went ahead to live with the Moabites. She lost both her husband and her sons, “call me not Naomi call me Mara, for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me. I went out full and the LORD hath brought me home again empty …” But sincerely speaking, did God have a hand in the evil that befell her? Your answer is right just as mine too. That is why you must be careful about the choices you make because they will either make you or break you. It’s up to you seeking God’s face in this brand New Year 2018.
