THE POWER OF PRAYING IN TONGUES 1
"For he who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to men, but to God. For no one understands him, although in the spirit, he speaks mysteries."
1 Corinthians 14:2 (MEV)
Main Text:
You have a weakness. It doesn't matter who you are or how long you spend exercising. As long as you're a born again child of God living on planet earth, you've a weakness. This weakness can cause you to act like a sinner on the outside, when on the inside you're a saint. What weakness is that? The flesh. Most times, we want to glorify the Lord, but our flesh tries to act in rebellion, Jesus said "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." (Matthew 26:41). Our flesh hasn't been reborn as our Spirit has, and that in itself is a disadvantage and if it controls your life, it will take you from one failure to another. Apostle Paul tells us to bring our bodies (flesh) into subjection so we don't become cast away. If we don't do something to control the flesh, it was take control and ruin our lives.
1 Corinthians 9:27 "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. (KJV)
What do we need to do? Build up our Spirit-man. Strengthen it to the point where it can actually dominate, or rule over the flesh. This might sound hard, however, do not fear, it's not. God has made it so easy, anyone can do it. How you might ask? Jude 20 "But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit." (NKJV). Most believers don't realize it, but praying in the spirit, is a spiritual exercise that emboldens your inner man.
Confession; I am strengthened in the inner man. I take authority over the flesh in Jesus name. I am a Spirit being and will develop my Spirit daily.
Prayer; May my tongue never cease in the name of Jesus
