WILLING AND OBEDIENT
"Now if you faithfully obey the voice of the LORD your God and are careful to follow all His commandments, I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.”
Deuteronomy 28:1
Main Text: Main text: Isaiah 1:19
The conjunction 'and' carries the meaning of 'in addition, as well as.' Essentially, to partake in the goodness of the land, both willingness and obedience are required. You may express, 'Lord, I am obedient.' In response, He might say, 'Then be willing.' To which you respond, 'Understood, Lord. I am willing. What's next? The Lord may affirm, 'Perfect. Be willing and obedient."
As a citizen of Nigeria, you possess specific rights detailed in the Constitution. Adhering to the laws of the land ensures your proper standing with the Nigerian government. Likewise with God: As a believer, you hold citizenship in the kingdom of God, affording you rights to everything within it. Established in Jesus' blood, a covenant between Jesus and God guarantees these rights for you. If Jesus is your Lord, you stand in right-standing with God, possessing the righteousness of God and the entitlement to all that God offers. Upon accepting Jesus as your Savior, you gained rights and privileges previously unavailable, becoming heirs to His promises (Galatians 4:1-7). In the spiritual realm, you hold legal rights, but it is crucial to take your rightful place and actively exercise them!
You have rights in God! However, this can only be enjoyed when you are willing and obedient! Choose to be obedient to God’s Word now and see your life turn around in glory!
Confession:
I refuse to worry about my financial situation. I will not fall into the temptation to fear or have anxiety or any care. I cast my cares over onto the Lord because if He takes care of the birds and flowers, He’ll certainly take care of me. I am willing and obedient therefore, in a short while from now, I step into my harvest in Jesus’ name.
