THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – WHAT IS PEACE? 2

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23(HCSB)
Main Text:

Jesus’ goal in coming to earth wasn’t just to free man from sin, however, He came to bring about a full and abiding relationship of restoration and love with the Father. The cost of this peace was His life. Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed-and we were healed!” (TLB)

The fruit of the Spirit includes a peace that goes beyond that of salvation. It is a sweet relationship. We are called to His presence and called to be confident at His presence because we are his friends. Ephesians 2:11-18Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision"…But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.” (NIV)

Hebrews 4:16 (NIV) John 15:15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” (NIV)

Confession: I am the body of Christ and Satan has no power over me, for I overcome evil with good, I am of God and have overcome Satan. Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world, I fear no evil for He is with me. Glory to God I am blessed.
