CAN YOU SAY YOU ARE SAVED INDEED?
“Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.â€
Titus 2:14
Main Text:
Recently while at a prayer meet, one of our pastors in the house put a direct question across to everyone to answer. The pastor asked me; are you born again? What is the witness? The question was actually greeted with different answers, but the hallmark of it was that, the Holy Spirit must bear witness with our spirit that we are born again.
Light and darkness are not in any way similar. There’s a clear difference between the hours of the day and those of the night. It’s therefore evident that at redemption, you should be able to distinguish between your past and your present life knowing that yesterday is gone and you have been renewed by the blood of Jesus Christ. The effects of your old lifestyle should be automatically lost because you are now under a new government and leadership of Christ. Apostle Paul said: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17. Your life is renewed inside out the moment you confess Jesus as your Lord and Saviour with every sincerity and readiness to follow Him by the rule. Except you are indulging in self-deception, you can’t be genuinely saved without noticeable differences in your life, character, dressing, speech, relationships and most importantly the kind of work that is found in your hands.
Redemption brings you into the reality of God’s love and the need to depart totally from following after the ways of the world. Therefore, if you are genuinely born again, you will be reassured in your spirit man and people around you should be able to testify of the change. The Holy Spirit must bear witness with your spirit that you are born again.
Prayer: O Lord, renew your grace upon my life and empower me to work closely with you on a daily basis.
