DO NOT TRUST IN MAN 2

“Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots…
Isaiah 31:1
Main Text:

There are few things that make it easy for some people to trust in men. Many powerful and wealthy men boast about their riches and connections, hence some people think their help is in their hands, error! Most people help because of a string attached, you will hear nothing goes for nothing. In the end, men would always be men, with their weaknesses. Trusting them invariably ends in disappointment. The children of Israel incurred God’s wrath for turning to Egypt for help, instead of seeking God.
The Egyptians were powerful, numerous, and with a well-equipped army. On the face of it, they seemed to be an appropriate counter force against the powerful Assyrian enemies that were targeting Israel. But the Egyptians were mere men, and their resources and actual help were grossly limited, when compared to Almighty God. God who was willing to defend, deliver and preserve Jerusalem. All He was waiting for was for the Israelites to turn to Him, forsake their idols and repent from their sins. It is actually foolish to seek protection or even provision from men, who themselves are perennially in need. Sad to say that some of us are looking towards the 2019 elections for our salvation form oppression and afflictions, well don’t be surprised, there is no help outside the ordinance of God.

Why trust a man whose resources are few, whose power can fail, and whose help at best, is temporary? God alone is able to do all things. He can supply all our needs; He can pull us out from the fire of oppression, and deliver us from the opposition of fierce adversaries. And “what shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
The Bible says without mincing word that “They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion which cannot be removed.”

Prayer: Jesus is the truth I am therefore free from all error
