ARE YOU WASHED AND READY?
There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness
Proverbs 30:12
Main Text:
There is need for us to consider not only the calamities being suffered by many people as a result of the increase in knowledge in this end time but to also look seriously how we can sustain our faith in Christ without falling for every wind of doctrinism in the world. We should also consider what these calamities are pointing to – the imminent coming of Jesus the Judge and what it portends for those who are not living right, whether they are born again or not. And the question you want to ask yourself is – “How prepared am I for eternity?”. So as you hear about the death of people, ask yourself how sure you are of making to heaven if your assignment on earth suddenly ends today.
As the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, reveals yourself to you, you might discover that just like the people you see as unfortunate you also have some things in your own life that you need to weep over and repent of. For instance, that feeling of hatred, envy, bitterness, etc. that you cover up with a fake smile, the unforgiveness you are harboring against your spouse or someone else, the secret desire that you as a married man/woman have for someone that is not your spouse, your secret unfaithfulness to your spouse in spite of which you carry on with your ministry work as if you are a pure vessel, the pride in your heart that makes you look down on others or which you try to cover by using words to show a humble spirit that you do not really possess, the way you take your husband for granted and neglect your duty to him and to your children all in the name of being busy for the Lord, the fact that you are rejoicing that the world has labeled you an awesome servant of God even though you know within you that you are operating far below God’s expectation of you is enough for you to genuinely repent.
Prayer: Lord, may I not miss eternity
