A BETTER COVENANT
" But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises."
Hebrews 8:6 (KJV)
Main Text:
A basic covenant involves a pact, or promise, between two parties in which each pledge to the other all his possessions, strength and was sealed with the shedding of blood. If the first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need for a second .Hebrews 8:7
"If the first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need for a second covenant to replace it."(NLT). Hebrews 7:25, "Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf." (NLT)
The New Covenant is better than the old for the Blood that enacted it is a better blood. The blood of bulls and goats could only sanctify ceremoniously. The blood of Christ goes as far as purging the conscience of believers. Hebrews 9:13-14, "The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!" (NIV)
Through the blood of the New Covenant, we have full access to God at all times. By the blood, we enjoy the incorruptible life. Jesus doesn't come before the Father once a year, He lives continually at the Father's right hand making intercession for the saints. We are saved from the grass to the grace when we come unto God by Jesus. By this blood, we enjoy forgiveness of sins, redemption, and the riches of His grace. .
Prayer: I am redeemed, I am forgiven, I enjoy the riches of God's grace, I am a joint heir with Christ Jesus. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
