LIVE ABSOLUTELY BY FAITH
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith
Romans 1:17
Main Text:
According to Biblical history, the situation which Habakkuk faces is the imminent invasion of the southern kingdom of Judah by the Chaldeans (who are the same as the Babylonians). This invasion eventually happened at the end of the sixth century BC, and Jerusalem fell to Nebuchadnezzar in 586 BC. The Lord revealed to Habakkuk beforehand that Judah was going to be punished for her sin by the Chaldeans.
The Bible declares that the just shall live by faith — not by feeling, not by emotion, not by fear, not by worries — by faith. I know sometimes that it seems like nothing is happening in terms of our spiritual growth. There are times when we don't really feel like we are changing, because as we look at ourselves every day, we don't necessarily see any changes. But as we are walking by faith day by day, month by month, and year by year, we are being transformed.
Colossians 2:6 tells us, "As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving."
What do you believe? Whatever it is, that is what you will experience. If you believe that God is limited, then you will experience the limits of God. If you believe that God is unlimited, you will experience the fullness of God. As Jesus said, “According to “your” faith, be it unto you”. Some Christians have remained in bondage for so long, because they don’t operate by the law of faith. “I know my God will heal me someday” is a mere religious talk; that’s not faith! Faith calls real that which isn’t understood by the senses. Faith believes and affirms what God has said.
So, liv e by faith. Act on the Word. That’s how you put the law of faith to work when you activate the prevailing Word.
Prayer: I will always live by faith in your Word!
