KEEP QUIET!

“A [self-confident] fool utters all his anger, but a wise man holds it back and stills it.”
Proverbs 29:11 (AMP)
Main Text: James 1:15-19

One of the things that believers must learn to do if we want to be faithful servants in the kingdom of God is how to keep our mouths shut. Very few of us have been able to master this skill. Whenever we get worked up about an issue, we think we have to let everyone about it, we say “I’m just going to give them a piece of my mind.” Don’t make that mistake, no one needs/wants a piece of your mind.

In matters of spiritual insight, when the Holy Spirit gives you discernment about a situation, don’t go spreading it all over town. If you do, you’ll come to the place where the Lord can’t trust you with revelation and insight into things and situations. For instance, if a person receives revelation about someone’s weakness or needs so they could pray for the person, but instead of keeping that information between themselves and God in prayer, go about town telling others about it. As a result, the lose their effectiveness as an intercessor.

Don’t let that happen to you. Develop the quiet art of the wise man, and the devil will find it difficult to harm your prayer life and ministry to others.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I ask for forgiveness in anyway I’ve let loose my tongue, I choose to be disciplined in Jesus name. Amen.
