WHERE IS YOUR EXTRA OIL?

Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense.
Exodus 25:6
Main Text:

We are very conversant with Jesus’ parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1-13. In the parable, we see that because the five foolish virgins did not prepare for extra oil, they were incapable of enduring deeper into the night as required, and their calamity at the end of the night was the horrible fate of eternal condemnation. We begin to wonder why a virgin; an undefiled Christian should be dubbed a foolish virgin. But, they were foolish because they thought and acted foolishly, they left their duty posts to buy more oil at the wrong time. May you never miss your God–given appointment in Jesus’ name.

The important aspect of our Lord’s second coming is that no one knows the actual time of is coming.

Extra oil means being extra ready. Nobody told them when the bridegroom was due to arrive. Watch, you do not know when Jesus will come (Matthew 24:44). After passing your first test, stand, because another test will be needed for your next promotion. (Eph.6:13).

The virgins know that the Bridegroom was sovereign. He could come whenever, however,

He pleases (Psalm 115:3), the virgins know that the time for relaxation was only after the race. Don’t think to rest on your oars when you have not attained the best for your destiny.

Do not relax when you have not finished your race (II Timothy 4:5-8). They know that they had not reached their goals yet. (Philippians 3:13-14). Forget past successes because you have not yet truly apprehended.

To reach your goal, you must be extra careful – pray more (I Thessalonians 5:17); study the word more (Joshua. 1:8); fast more (II Corinthians 2:27); and above all, take extra oil along, take extra precaution because you don’t have the time to go back or look back once your hands are on the plough (Luke 9:61-62). Live ready for the coming of the Lord.

Prayer: I will not relax on my journey to destiny
