THE GRACE OF GIVING
“Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap...â€
Luke 6:38
Main Text:
Some people look at other’s lives and wonder, “Why don’t I have what they have?” and “Why doesn’t God answer my prayers like He answers theirs?” They may speculate on all the horizontal reasons, but I can tell you why. The flow of God’s blessing into their lives has been plugged up by their ignorance of the Word of God. They are not experiencing the Kingdom surplus through grace in giving because they lack direction.
One of the most important decisions you make as a believer is to give sacrificially to the Lord’s work. I know that people abuse and twist giving for their own advantage, but that doesn’t give us the luxury to ignore what God’s Word says. God knows what you are capable to give.
The challenge with giving as a seed is that no one knows which will quickly yield. But don’t be weary in doing so. As long as you show interest in expanding His Kingdom here on earth, God will not stop the outpouring of His blessing on you this 2019, starting this January.
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. —2 Corinthians 9:5-8
I challenge you this New Year to give more liberally to God’s work than ever. God will give you a shield and cause His angels to keep and watch over you and your interest thought out the year.
Is there something the Lord is telling you to give today? It could be financial, material, or even your treasured possession. What do you have in your hand that you can use to bless someone else? Take a step today and set the blessing of God in motion in your life. Bring His Kingdom down upon a soul today and you will not lose your reward.
Prayer: Let me always obey You in giving O Lord.
