YOU ARE OF GOD’S LINEAGE

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.”
Ephesians 3:14-15 (NKJV)
Main Text: Colossian1:1-12

The family is a unit and when a man marries a woman she ceases to bear the surname of her father instead takes up a new name and identity. Whatever follows her husband begins to follow her, she becomes her husband’s name; she becomes the name! She has a right to use the name, why because she has the legal right to. In the same vein, when you got saved, you became the name. You have the legal right to use the name!

The Bible says, “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6 KJV). Take advantage of your privileged position as a child of God in truth. Let the qualities of God’s personality be evident in your character and daily living. Inspire your peers; show them the light, and be an exemplary icon of Christ in your world.

When you become a Child of God, you have a legal right to the name of Jesus. You become part of the family of God. Your mark changes and you receive the name and make of Jesus! You belong to the family of God in heaven and on earth. You take up a new name and identity. Rom 8:15 (ESV) “For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"

To be part of the family of God means knowing and experiencing the Love of God and when we made Jesus Lord of our lives, we received this privilege therefore we now have the right to call God “Father”. Calling God Father, is one of the greatest blessings of what it means to be part of God’s family.

Confession: I belong to the family of God, therefore, I enjoy the blessings of Abraham in Christ Jesus. I am not an outcast, I belong to the family of God!
