MESSAGE FROM CALEB 2
and Caleb ... said unto him (Joshua), Thou knowest the thing that the Lord said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadesh-Barnea.â€
Joshua 14: 6
Main Text:
Beloved, do you spend time trying to find out what the scripture says concerning you? Are you aware that it is the scripture you know that the Holy Spirit will bring to your memory to strengthen you in time of troubles?
Verse 8: “Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people to melt; but I wholly followed the Lord.” Caleb was not a follower of the crowd. He wanted to follow the Lord with all his heart. If others too followed Him, they would all end up in the same place; if not, he would not be affected by their choice. Are you influenced by other people’s attitude to God and matters of His kingdom? The Bible says we should look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Heb.12: 2). That was exactly what Caleb did. He did not form his opinion by listening to that of others; he made a personal decision to follow God. The race to heaven is an individual race, not a group, family, or church thing. Look up to God and allow Him to be the One to direct your every step. Do not fashion your life after another person’s; rather stick to God and let Him make you what He wants you to be. Even if it seems as if you are the only different person, do not mind as long as you are in the center of God’s will.
If we have the understanding that God is the One keeping us alive and healthy it will be easier for us to fearlessly throw ourselves into His service no matter what it entails. Also if we understand that everything we have – job, family, money, etc – comes from God we will be able to serve Him without the fear of losing any of them in the course of doing so. Never forsake His Prevailing Word.
Prayer: I will not mislead others by my way of life
