STRANGE FRIENDS
“ … You lock people out of the kingdom of heaven. You won't go in yourselves, and you keep others from going in
Matthew 23:13
Main Text:
Detractors will go to any length and will try to gain access into every aspect of one’s life just to fulfill their mission. A hymn writer described them as friends that give pain. In a bid to separate them from God, these strange “friends” lead unsuspecting believers down a path that is not good. They give counsel that if followed could create confusion and darkness in homes, churches, at work, in the market etc., just to rob God’s people of His peace. Their mission is to negatively affect you in God’s service and also slow down the rate at which Christ is formed in His people Galatians 4:19.
Nothing hurts as much as being misled by a trusted friend. Mislead can come from anyone which is why we are warned in the Bible against trusting man when God can supply our needs.
When betrayed or misled, the best we can do to get over our grief is by turning to God to gradually ease us off the pain and forgive the person so that we have our healing faster than it might be.
What can be responsible for being misled is failure to allow the Holy Spirit to make decisions for us over a “little thing”. For instance, who should be my friend and to what extent is my friendship. John 16:13 calls the Holy Spirit the Spirit of truth and says that He will guide us into all truth. He can reveal to you the real identity of the “very nice” agent of darkness whose constantly smiling face “radiates the joy of humanity” but in the real sense is a demon. There is always a temptation to judge people according to their appearance, which is something the Lord warned us against in John 7:24. We cannot do that, especially in these end times when the devil and his agents are working furiously and tirelessly because their time is short.
The next time you want to take an advice, check with the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Keep me away from evil companies
