THE POWER OF FIRST WORDS
“For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”
Matthew 12:37 (KJV)
Main Text:
Like it or hate it, believe it or not – your words matter. Words especially first words set spiritual laws in motion. God designed it this way. The first words any human ever heard were “be fruitful, multiply, fill up the earth and subdue it…” (Gen 1:28) God’s first words to man were blessing and empowerment, that’s His will for us and in order to be in line with His will, our words must align with He’s in very situation.
In Mark 5:36, we see Jesus showing Jairus when he was facing a seemingly tragedy in His life. News had just come that his daughter had died. Jairus could have said a number of things at that moment, he could have allowed his first words be filled with grief, anger and disappointment, however, he knew it would set the wrong spiritual law in motion, so Jesus immediately cautioned saying “Do not fear, only believe.”
As a result, we didn’t see Jairus say anything – he didn’t get into agreement with the bad report by speaking words which was critical to the outcome of the situation and as a result, a miracle broke forth. What would be your first words if you receive a bad report from the doctor, your job or about anything? Your reactions to any negative issue must not be equally negative. The words in your mouth are seasoned with grace.
Prayer: Father in Jesus name, I receive wisdom on how to speak and deal with affairs in Jesus name.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
