DO THE WORKS OF JESUS
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38
Main Text: Main Text: Matthew 28:18-20
The Lord has commissioned every believer into the ministry of reconciliation, expecting us to do the works of Jesus. His works were not about opening a bank, a school, a pub, or any business—though those have their place. The Lord expects us to preach, teach, and heal. The Bible says Jesus of Nazareth went around—doing what? Preaching, teaching, and healing. Jesus wants us to be fruitful by fulfilling and obeying the Great Commission.
Jesus encountered people who wanted to serve Him, and although He desired for them to follow Him, they offered excuses. One wanted to bury his father, another needed to tend to five yoke of oxen, and another became sad when asked to sell his possessions. They chose not to follow the Lord. In doing the works of Jesus, He expects us to die to self and fully commit to preaching and teaching the Word. Luke 9:57-62 “As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” He said to another man, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.” Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
Decide to give yourself fully to the Lord, no matter what business you do. Ensure that you preach the gospel, teach the gospel, and heal the sick. The Apostle nourishes and strengthens us, but it is our responsibility to bear fruit by winning souls and inviting them to become part of the church, ensuring their spiritual growth and maturity.
Confession:
In the Name of Jesus, I boldly declare, my life is fully surrendered to the Lord. I offer myself as a living sacrifice, dedicated to His will and purpose. I belong to Jesus, and every part of me is committed to serving Him with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. My life produces the fruits of righteousness, which bring glory and honor to God. I walk in integrity, love, and holiness, reflecting the character of Christ in everything I do. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I bear fruit that remains, and my life becomes a testimony of His grace and goodness.”
