THE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT – WHAT IS JOY? 2

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23(NIV)
Galatians 5:22-23(NIV)
Main Text:

Think about this for a moment, the day you got saved, there was a party in heaven. God celebrated, this should motivate you to share this gospel of truth with those around you. Acts 8:8:“So there was great joy in that city.” (NLT)

The gospel was preached at Samaria miracles broke forth and the city was joyful, God desires to use you to bring joy to your community, city, and nation, all you have to do is be yielded to the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit works in us to bear more fruit, we become confident in God’s promises and rejoice in our walk with Him and other believers. John 15:11 “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” (KJV)

The Greek chara is closely related to charis which means “grace” or “a gift”. Chara is the normal response to charis – we have joy because of God’s grace. The next step is to allow our joy become an action as we express it, although sometimes, joy can be so great it is inexpressible. 1 Peter 1:8: “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.” (KJV) Possessing joy is a choice and we can only choose joy be yielding and growing in the Spirit.

Confession:  Blessed be God, I am joyous, I walk in joy, the joy of the Lord is my strength therefore, I am not frail, I am not weak, I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Glory to God
