THE REALITY OF HEAVEN AND HELL 1
“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.â€
Revelations 14:11(KJV)
Main Text:
Heaven and Hell are real places. The reality of this place called heaven or hell is much more real than any human. Millions of people die every day and the big question is where have this people gone? One of the realest encounters of Hell in scripture was when Jesus shared the story of Lazarus and the Rich man. Luke 16:20 “And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.” Eternity is forever, heaven is forever, hell is forever and the human mind cannot fully comprehend “forever”.
You are a Spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body. This world is not the end of life. There’s only one way to gain victory over hell and it’s not by being good. Our definition of good and God’s definition of good are completely different however similar. The only way to escape hell is by the man Jesus. John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” God did not create hell for humans, it’s not his will for any human to end up there, however we make the sole decision of where we want to spend eternity.
Confession: I prioritize the gospel; I make it my personal responsibility to share the good news of Jesus to the world. I populate heaven and depopulate hell.
Prayer: Father, I pray that the love of the world will not prevail over me.
