ABSOLUTE COMPLETION
“IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, thus sharing His resurrection from the dead], aim at and seek the [rich, eternal treasures] that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.â€
Colossians 3:1(AMP)
Main Text:
In the Hebrew tradition, the High Priest never sits down. Many Christians today don’t recognize the significance of Jesus sitting down. There was no seat for the High Priest in the temple because He never finished offering sacrifices unto God for the repentance of the people. He always has to go back the following year so he never needed to sit down when he always had to get up repeatedly to perform the same action.
On the other hand, we have Jesus, who came to die for us and restore us back to fellowship with God. Our sin is laid up on Jesus – him who knew no sin, became sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:21) Jesus the perfect High Priest sat down at the right side of God and never stood up to repeat the same action.
It is evident that this action proves IT IS FINISHED – paid in full, nothing missing nothing broken, no more sacrifices. Jesus completed all that concerns you when He sat down. We see the veil of the temple torn from top to bottom the second Jesus uttered those glorious words it is finished. That is a sign that everything that pertains to you has been perfectly perfected.
Confession
I am renewed in the inner man; I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am not a sinner; I might have been born one but when I accepted the finished works of Christ I ceased being one! Glory to God I am righteous! I am blessed! Hallelujah.
