PRIDE – GOD OPPOSES THE PROUD

“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
James 4:6(NIV)
Main Text:

The Greek word James uses for oppose is “antitasso” and it means “to range in battle against or basically to be at war with”. This means, God is at war and ranging battle against all who are proud. 1 Peter 5:5 “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” (KJV)

God’s word makes it clear to us that grace will be given only to those who are humble.
It’s important we understand the character of Lucifer or who we call Satan today. He was the light bringer, the morning star, son of the dawn, the day star. He was a top ranked Angel, he occupied the office of an Archangel, and he was the Anointed Cherub. He was undoubtedly the most beautiful Angel God created, Ezekiel 28: 12-13 “Son of man, sing this funeral song for the king of Tyre. Give him this message from the Sovereign Lord: "You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and exquisite in beauty.
You were in Eden, the garden of God. Your clothing was adorned with every precious stone— red carnelian, pale-green peridot, white moonstone, blue-green beryl, onyx, green jasper, blue lapis lazuli, turquoise, and emerald— all beautifully crafted for you and set in the finest gold. They were given to you on the day you were created.” (NLT)

Lucifer was created with all of these and he also ministered praises unto God, he was perfect the scriptures say until iniquity was found in him. What iniquity? See Ezekiel 28:14-15 Isaiah 14:13-14 NKJV)
Lucifer got proud, he wanted to be like God, he wanted to plan a coup and overthrow God. We need to always watch and guard our hearts toward our superiors and ensure we don’t envy them.

Confession:
 I declare, I’m a success, I’m a star, I’m prosperous, I’m blessed, I’m moving forward I will never be stagnant, I am blessed!
