THESE SIGNS SHALL FOLLOW THEM
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly it will by no means hurt them...â€
Mark 16: 17 – 18
Main Text:
I took time out to write the long verses because each line of the sentences is important. These days in the church environment, there is really nothing significant to distinguish the believers and the unbelievers except the hats some of our ladies wear to church and the well dry-cleaned suits and ironed ties on the men, and maybe some other things you know anyway. In John 5: 17 the Bible says, ‘...My Father worketh hitherto, and I work” Jesus made us realize that His Father always worked, He, Himself worked, then I think we should not be doing anything different, other than involving in the work of God. Of course if you are a regular worshipper in the Father’s House, the concept of fulfilling your potential as a SON is dependent on your service unto God.
In Mark 16: 17, Jesus started by saying “these signs shall follow…” and for every “follow” there is a “lead”. So until we go out on the offensive with the mind set to depopulate the kingdom of darkness and increase the number on the way to the kingdom of God, there will be no evidences of our sonship with God. We should not allow complacency to erode the workings of the kingdom of God for Jesus warned that He would “spit out” the believers who remain lukewarm.
Today, it should be nothing special that at our command, cancer would disappear, fibroid would melt, and barrenness would give way everything depends on our level of obedience and commitment to the WORD of God. This is not an exclusive right of a few pastors – no! It’s for every believer- Mark. 16: 17 says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe... The signs are with you already if you really BELIEVE.
Prayer: I ask that Your signs and wonders will always follow me O Lord.
