MERCY SPEAKS
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy
Matthew 5:7
Main Text:
Before you ever thought of loving God, the merciful God loved you and executed a plan to redeem your life. His goodness and mercy defeated sin and judgment, and opened the way of peace for you. That mercy is available to you everyday and of course God’s love speaks of mercy over judgment.
No matter your wrongdoings, once you come to the term of repentance, mercy is made readily available to plead your cause before God. Through mercy, God is being reminded of the blood that was shed on the Cross of Calvary. When you were at the verge of destruction, the mercy of God will cry out to defend you before the host of heaven and the Angel of God will be released immediately to vindicate you.
Beloved, count yourself blessed. Can you remember the blind Barthemeous? The man would have remained a blind man all the days of his life safe for mercy. I decree that mercy will speak for you in this 2019.
If you feel you have failed God, His mercy will free you from guilt and condemnation. If you feel you have failed someone else, his mercy will be upon you as you seek to make things right. God’s mercy will always be available for you to succeed in life. However, mercy is reciprocal in nature, a gesture always coming back. You must as well show mercy and be compassionate to others like Thomas Adams said, “He who demands mercy and shows none ruins the bridge over which he himself is to pass”. The mercy shown today is a seed that will be harvested one day. Don’t be wicked to your workers/employers, show mercy to your family and the needy so that God’s mercy will always prevail.
Just recently that Jesus’ death and resurrection was remembered, show the mercy God shown us to people who are less privileged. Mercy speaks and prevails over judgments. We all need mercy-to make it through in 2019.
Prayer: Teach me to show mercy in my life
