YOUR NEW IDENTITY
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
Main Text: Colossians 1:20-23
We are a generation born in due season. Abraham had to adjust instantly to his new reality and identity, introducing himself by his new name. That might not make sense to some of his folks then. Recall also that Sarah, his wife was barren; another hopeless case of identity.
When Paul wanted to address the Christians at Ephesus, he referred to them as saints, and the faithful (Ephesians 1:1). That’s your description as well. If you aren’t a saint, then it means you’re not born again, because saints are those who are born again. In Colossians 1:22, He calls you holy, unblameable and unreproveable.
When Jesus died on the Cross, our reality changed. He became our substitute. He was made to be sin with our sin, and when we got born again and became a new creature, we were made righteous with His righteousness. The Great Exchange became possible! He became sin so that we can become His righteousness. You’re not an old washed up sinner, you are righteous.
On the cross, Jesus gave you a new identity, a new reality! The bondage of sin, poverty, sickness and disease became done with and health and vitality became your new reality! You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Cor 5:21) Accept and walk in the light of these truths and you’ll be ever productive in your walk of righteousness.
Confession: I enjoy the outpouring of abundance, the land is green for me, I am righteous, I am blessed, the glory of the latter is greater than the former, the blessing is here, I am blessed, the Greater One abides in me! Hallelujah!

Eph 2:4-5 (TLB) “But God is so rich in mercy; he loved us so much that even though we were spiritually dead and doomed by our sins, he gave us back our lives again when he raised Christ from the dead-only by his undeserved favor have we ever been saved.”
