MINISTERING TO THE LORD 2

“Then Elkanah went home to Ramah. And the boy ministered to the Lord in the presence of Eli the priest.”
1 Samuel 2:11 (ESV)
Main Text:

While learning the role of a priest in wearing the robe, we can imagine that the boy Samuel in his ministry before the Lord would also have been given simple and menial tasks such as learning to hear the voice of the Lord, he had to be at the beck and call of Eli the High priest; ensuring that the sanctuary was clean and conducive for worship.

In the Old Testament, ministering to the Lord was restricted to the priesthood, however, when Jesus came, He changed the rules of the game, thereby making it possible for us to minister to the Lord wherever and whenever we choose to. Jesus redeemed us as Kings and Priests. You are a priest of God, therefore, you have what it takes to minster to the Lord. It is your responsibility to minister unto God.

Many Christians wonder why they don’t experience the power of God, as they should. It is this act of ministering to the Lord that needs to be understood and undertaken with wholehearted sincerity. This is a very important aspect of our Christian service. Ministering to the Lord is the essence of worship.

Confession: I minister before the Lord; I love the Lord, I uphold His statutes, as I minister before the Lord, I will experience the power of God in all areas of my life. I am blessed, I am righteous.
