MONEY: NOT THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL 1

"For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows."
1 Timothy 6:10 (NLT)
Main Text:

Certain individuals misquote this portion of the Bible and say money is the root of all evil, however, that's not what the Bible says. On the contrary, the love of money leads towards evil deeds. You serve who or what you love. If you love money, you will serve money and do almost anything to acquire it. Jesus said "where your treasure is there your heart lies"(Matthew 6:21) why? Because, out of the heart flows the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). When our meditation leans towards money rather than the word of God, unknowingly, you begin to worship it. It becomes the deciding factor in any step you want to take in life.

"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."(NIV) Matthew 6:24

Money is only a blessing if it's in the hand, however, becomes a curse when it's in the heart. When money becomes your greatest consideration in every affair in life, then you know you are far away from God. Jesus said it's impossible to serve two masters because one will call for your loyalty.

"For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense, but the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it." Ecclesiastes 7:12 (NKJV)

Confession: Glory to God, I am blessed beyond measure, I live in abundance, my needs are met. I am blessed to be a blessing to my world. I have authority over money.

Prayer: No influence of money shall overwhelm me
