ARE YOU HAPPY TO KNOW JESUS?
“He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him “we have found the Messiahâ€
John 1:41
Main Text:
There is something notable with children in our world, when you give them money, they want to keep it from people’s knowledge. Several years ago, some prospectors were searching for gold in a city. Then suddenly, one of them found an unusual stone. After he broke it open, it contained gold. His friends joined him and working together and eagerly, the men discovered an abundance of the precious metal. Not controlling their emotions, they shouted, eureka! We found it! We found gold! We are rich! But before they went to town for supplies, they agreed not to tell anyone about their discovery.
While in town, not one of them said a word to anyone. But when they were ready to go back to the gold site, a group of men gathered and were ready to follow them. “So you found gold!” the group declared. “Who told you”? The prospectors asked. No one, for it shows on your faces and manners.
That’s how it should be, even more when a person discovers Christ. The joy of sins forgiven and a new outlook to life shows on the person’s face.
These miners wanted to keep quiets about their findings, but they had a joy that was naturally bubbling out from their souls.
But finding Christ is something more exciting than the gold, and unlike the miners, Christians are to share their salvation experience with others, for this increases their joy. The Bible says we are the light of the world and when you see light it does not need description or announcement. Of course we should not forget that no one can hide light, it shines and dispels darkness naturally. What are you doing to shine in this year of His Kingdom? Let the light of Christ attract in you attract others to the reality of salvation today.
Prayer: Lord let the joy of finding Christ, keep bubbling in me
