THE RIGHT FOCUS

“To whom he said, this is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear”
Isaiah 28:12
Main Text:

Some in life are so stubbornly wrongly focused and yet they would not CHANGE, just as some others are RIGHTLY focused and will also will not change their ways. I just remember Leah in the camp of the insurgent-what a rightly focused young girl.

The Formula 1 car drivers are taught that when they lose control of the car, they need to focus on where they want to go. This suggests that if they focus on the wall they’re heading toward, they are most likely to hit it. Yet if they focus on where they want the car to go (not where it’s going) they are more likely to gain control and get back into the race.

When you stay focused on your purpose, not your problem, you can be happy even when life seems to be falling apart. Paul was an old man when he was in prison in Rome. He was a long way from home. He was awaiting execution. Everything has been taken from him — his friends, his freedom, his ministry, even his privacy, with a guard chained to him 24 hours a day. It wasn’t exactly a happy time for him.

But there was one thing they could not take away from Paul: his power of focus on purpose. Paul made the choice to stay focused on his purpose, even when he had lost everything else. What was his purpose? Serving God by serving others.

Paul says in Philippians 1:22-25, “If by continuing to live I can do more worthwhile work, then I am not sure which I should choose. I am pulled in two directions. I want very much to leave this life and be with Christ, which is a far better thing; but for your sake it is much more important that I remain alive...” (TEV).

Beloved, be well focused in your purpose to serve God in this 2018.
